Fun with our Bugaboo

We bought a 2nd hand Bugaboo from e-bay last month and we took some time today to actual have a play with it. Took a bit of getting used to but we got there in the end.....no major rows either!

White Dung

We went out for a stroll in the snow earlier today but we didn't stay out too long - so icy outside! Had a nice bit of lunch and a coffee on the seafront before heading back to the flat.

Our Beautiful Bump - Week 28

It's been really cold in our flat recently and the heating is on all the time now. Snow fell on Thursday night/Friday morning which made it even colder. All good fun though. At least the bun is keeping warm!

My Beautiful Blooming Wife - Week 22

I took this picture of Sofia at 6:00 am, just before she flew out to Sweden to show the bun off to family and friends. I would have gone but I have no holiday left to take - Bah!

Felt my first kick/movement

Sofia has been feeling 'movements' for a while now but I felt my first on Saturday the 7th! Just a small one but it was great! As we're only just over halfway I can only imaging how hard they are going to feel soon. Maybe as hard as this fellas!? Let's hope not!

Lewes Bonfire Night

On November 5th Sofia, Bun and I went to Lewes Bonfire Night with our good friends Guy and Ruth. It was a lovely crisp night to be outside and we had a great time - only wish I had a hip flask of whiskey to keep the cold out!

Lewes was packed as usual and we were treated to some great sights and extremely loud bangs from all the different bonfire societies parading through the high street - I'm sure the Bun appreciated it! My hearing has slowly returned back to normal.

My Beautiful Blooming Wife - Week 21

Sofia is starting to feel 'fluttering' in her belly. "It feels like a fish swimming around in there!" she says. I hope not!

The bun - Week 20

Had our 2nd scan at the Sussex County Hospital on October 23rd and we were both glad to see that all is well with our little bun. We're still not 100% sure what the scan is of but I think it's the face of our imminent arrival. What do you think - all suggestions welcome.

We're having a baby!

On July 11th Sofia and I found out that we're going to be parents! Check out the first pics of our little bambino at 14 weeks old. We're both very excited\anxious but we can't wait to meet our little fella\lady.

Free bus from Falkenberg train station

For those of you arriving to Falkenberg by train, please note that the station is located just outside the city centre. You can either take the bus into the centre (should be free as long as you show them your train ticket) or take a taxi. If there are no taxis at the station, please call (+46) 346 14400.

Join us for drinks the night before our wedding.

For those of you who arrive in Falkenberg on the Friday we have arranged with a little gathering at ‘Brasseriet’ which is a new bar in the main town square - ‘Stortorget’.

We will be there from 7:00pm onwards for a few drinks to settle the nerves. If you fancy joining us for a drink and to meet some of the other guests before the big day then please pop by. We look forward to seeing you there.

Trains from Copenhagen

Go to www.sj.se and choose ‘in English’ in the top right hand corner.

Page 1 - In the From field put ‘Kobenhamns Lufthavn/Kastrup’ and in To put ‘Falkenberg Station’. Allow between 1,5 to 2hrs between arriving and train departure as you need time to collect luggage and pick up tickets.
Page 2 - Choose number of adults/children.
Page 3 - Choose train (1st or 2nd class)
Page 4 - Additional extras
Page 5 - Overview – check that all details are correct
Page 6 - Choose payment method (use a debit/credit card here). Under Delivery Method choose Pick Up as they don’t deliver outside of Scandinavia.

When you arrive at the Airport, just follow the signs for the trains (straight ahead when you come out). You can pick up your tickets from the Ticket Office or from the Ticket Machine (by the escalator leading down to track 1). If you supply an email address when ordering your tickets, you will get a confirmation email with your booking number which you will need when picking up your tickets. That email is NOT your ticket.

The train will not say Falkenberg but probably Gothenburg. When the conductor checks your ticket, ask him if you are in the right carriage as the train might divide at some point.

Honeymoon!

First thing on the Monday morning after the wedding, we are off to Spain and Andalucia to eat tapas and drink Sangria. We appreciate the thoughts of contributing towards the trip through a Travel Agent, but to keep costs down we have made all arrangements ourselves. If you want to have a peek at where we are staying click here: http://www.yurthotel.com/getting_there.html

Wedding presents/Gift ideas

We have decided not to ask for any wedding presents or gifts as we don't have any room in our small one bedroom flat for more toasters! We'd also have problems trying to take presents/gifts back to England from Sweden.

If you would like to make a contribution to the cost of our wedding and honeymoon then that would be greatfully appreciated.

Any song suggestions?

We've booked a band for the reception which will certainly help to get the party going. After they have finished we'll have more music being played so we'd like to hear your suggestions (Don't worry - ABBA's 'Dancing Queen' will definitely be played!). Post your song suggestions to the comments area of this blog and we'll put together a playlist. Cheers.

The Church

We're getting married on Saturday May 2, 2009 in Sofia's hometown of Falkenberg, Sweden. The church is called St Laurentii Church and is located in the old part of the town centre.

After the ceremony, the reception will be held in Vinbergs Bygdegård just outside Falkenberg. We do recommend that you either arrange with a hire car for your stay or order a taxi from the church to the venue.

Some useful websites for things to see and do:

Getting there and back

We recommend that you either fly with Ryanair from Stanstead to Gothenburg or with EasyJet from Gatwick to Copenhagen. There are other airlines but these are by far the cheapest options.

From Gothenburg to Falkenberg by train takes 1.5 hours.
From Copenhagen to Falkenberg by train takes 2.5 hours.
